Muffler

It was 8:45 PM and my car wasn't ready. Something was wrong with the muffler because it was sounding so very loud every time I accelerated that I had to blast the music just to make the sound go away.

I dropped it off yesterday morning before 8 to have the muffler replaced, and I didn't get a call until 3:30 to tell me that my car hadn't even been looked at. Around 5, they called and said it would cost $320 and was that ok with me, and it would take about an hour.

At seven, I called to find out what was happening and ask the shuttle to come pick me up.

At eight, I got a call that the work was finished. (THREE HOURS LATER!)

At 9, I finally arrived at the service center and voiced my displeasure at the wasted day loudly. I could have had Scott pick me up at 5 if I would have known it would take THAT long, or that the shuttle wouldn't arrive until almost 2 hours later. They asked me what they could do to make it right. I didn't have the wits about me to ask for a discount, but that's exactly what I should have done.

CD PLAYER

Steve fixed the radio. I had to buy a fuse on a wire and wire to pull through the instrument panel, but it is finally done and taken care of. Thanks Steve!

one headlight

so now one of the headlights is out. I am at the body shop having it checked. and that radio forgets all of the stations I set up as favorites every time I start up the car. I am thankful that steve is going to help me look at it.

Remember that wire I was talking about?

So, I dunno. This is making me nervous.

The wire that I touched with another wire. Well. There were two power wires coming from the car for power. There were two wires coming from the stereo for power. I tried each with each. They were both supposed to be power wires. So, I got genius and I decided to connect the two power wires from the stereo to the one power wire from the car.

And it worked.

Should I be concerned that I connected two power wires to one? Suddenly I am.

Thank god for curiousity

Well, I tried combining two wires I hadn't tried before, and the thing turned on.

I'll screw everything back together tomorrow.

So finally

So the damn radio is in but it won't turn on. My fingers hurt so bad.

ok, getting further

Ok, I got the wiring disconnected. I am making process.

Meanwhile Tyler is throwing a fit inside the house.

Well, it comes down to the hazard lights. How the HELL do I disconnect the wiring to the hazard lights?

Well, maybe it would have been worth the $100 for the install

I wish I would have called someone to help me with this damn cd player. Now, I have the entire front dash of my Civic disassembled and the kids are getting anxious (no school) and are trying to walk Ezra (one of our cats).

I wonder if I could install a cd player in my car by myself?
