sick

Warm my heart...

In Malmö today it is 5 degrees Celsius, and the sun is out.

I'm working from home today because I don't have anyone to watch the twins after school. It just so happens that I am really sick TOO.

I want to sleep this off but I have a deadline today.

It's Coming Down... It's Coming Down...

Drinking

Tyler has great difficulty taking medicine. She has trouble swallowing pills, and often is unable to keep them down.

The doctor prescribed a rigorous schedule of antibiotics for Tyler. Unfortunately that means more pills to take.

Tonight her body said no after she took her antibiotics and two of her pills for mood stabilization. I was in the bathroom/laundry room, but I could hear her getting sick over the dryer. Read more

Election Day

Tayler and I spent election day at home. She was sicker today than all days previous so I took her to the doctor.

They prescribed penicillin for her and sent us on our way.

I'm glad I've already voted.

Now I am packing like a crazy woman. T minus 13 hours before I take off for the U.S.

No appointment for you!

We called the wrong clinic, and by the time we got to the right one we spent a half an hour as caller 9 in the queue before I realized I was really burning cell phone minutes. We'll try calling again tomorrow if she feels any worse.

Right now she feels so/so. Better than this morning, but still sick.

Poor Tayler

Tayler is home today with a cough and she is so sick she is in bed still.

I am on the phone with the closest doctor's office and am number 9 in the queue. Then my cell phone went dead. Damn it!

Now I am back up to number 9. I hope we can get an appointment for her today.

I feel....

miserable.

Either I'm too hot, or I am too cold.

Sick

Now I feel sick.

Sick

I'm sick.

Linnea had it first, and now Helena and I have it. Sore throat, aching body, and headache.

I have an interview tomorrow so I must get better enough for the interview today.

Back from the dead

I was SO sick yesterday I was dead.

I had the kids bring my computer up to me so I could look up my boss' number and call in.

I only got out of bed once until around 8pm when I ventured downstairs (I HATE OUR BED and it was KILLING my back). I was starting to think I had that disease where your brain swells and your spine hurts as I lay on my back on the couch. I lay there long enough to eat an ice cream sandwich, the only thing I had to eat all day, and then went back to bed.

This morning, I had a pulse again. I still felt pretty awful- but I didn't want to miss more work, so after crawling into the school for a meeting there, I crawled into the office.

Tonight, I really feel bad again - funny how going to work takes it out of you - but I can't lie down or I cough uncontrollably.

A Series of Unfortunate Events, again.

I got the kids to start listening to the Series of Unfortunate Events book the first by Lemony Snicket, and they were addicted. I think they listened for at least an hour and a half and begged me not to turn it off! This is the first time we've had success with audio books, and I am excited. Perhaps we will be able to make long car trips with the help of audio books after all! Read more
